Hey guys, well well well. just came into some very interesting and helpful news!!! Arthalas, a fairly new member of our ranks (and a most generous one i might add) has offered his services to the kin as a weapon crafter of legendary skill! That means just send him a mail or tell and he can craft any weapon for you in game :) Thanks a lot Arth. Very glad to have you!!!

Hey guys, Ok everyone I'm sure you have noticed that there are two ventrilo server's details on the server status page now. We used to only use the alliance one as there are more people on it. However with the growing number of people in our kin we have decided to try and make our own ventrilo server the main one as we seem to be flooding the alliance server with Light of Valinor's (which is no bad thing at least imo :P ). So please join our ventrilo server if you are unsure. The alliance one will still be available for raids etc.
Oh and btw sign up on the events page if you are keen for a Skumfil HM run on friday 6th nov at 7.30pm est.

Hey all, well after being very confused on why some suggestions and kinship apps come through blank, even for me. And then apparently not changing anything on the server and it starts working again (I know confusing right). Anyway I'd like to congratulate Taris and myself for finally hitting 60 xD. and ty all for helpin us on the way :)
Also updated the members list to fit all those new recruits we've got recently :P once again, if I missed you, sorry. Email me at crudern@lightofvalinor.com or pm/mail me in game.

Hey guys, welcome to all the new recruits in the past few days. I hope you're all having a great time meeting and adventuring throughout Middle Earth with us! I just wanted to drop a quick line reminding everyone to have a read of the forums. There is just a TON of info up there about traits, leveling guide, classes, quests etc. Please also use the events section to let everyone know if you want to start an event like GB or GA *shudders* or maybe someplace fun like fornost :P It is an excellent form of communication if used well. Good hunting!

Please post any suggestions for the website or kin in the suggestion box below or just drop a line saying hi with encouraging words or at least constructive criticism :P
A bit about J.R.R Tolkien's lore surrounding the Light of Valinor:

The Light of Valinor refers to the light that shone from the two trees of Valinor.
The Two Trees of Valinor existed at a time when the only other source of light was the stars (which had been created for the Elves' benefit by Varda from the dew collected from the Two Trees). When, in order that the Elves might be convinced to come to Valinor, three Elven ambassadors were brought to see Valinor for themselves, it seems that the Two Trees affected them most significantly.
In particular Thingol is said to have been motivated in the Great Journey by his desire to see the Light of Valinor again (until he finds contentment in the light he sees in Melian's face). Also in later times, the Elves would be divided between the Calaquendi who had seen the light of the Trees, and the Moriquendi who had not, with the former group shown as explicitly superior in many ways.
The whole of the history of the First Age is strongly affected by the desire of many characters to possess the Silmarils that contain the only remaining unsullied light of the Trees.
In the Second and Third Ages, the White Trees of Númenor and of Gondor, whose likeness descends from that of Telperion, have a mostly symbolic significance, standing both as symbols of the kingdoms in question, and also as reminders of the ancestral alliance between the Dúnedain and the Elves. This relationship may go even deeper, as the destruction of one of these trees inevitably precedes trouble for the kingdom in question, implying an even stronger mystical bond.
